This is an outdoor adventure program designed for 7 to 16 year old boys
and girls which includes camping, bicycling, mountain climbing
(hiking),
rock climbing, and canoeing under the direction of a fully trained,
experienced and qualified program director and his staff. It is based out of 45
Britton Rd., Rochester, New York.

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 - A full day of outdoor fun including sledding, a snowshoe hike, races, campfire cooking, building snow sculptures and snow houses, a treasure hunt and more. A hot lunch and plenty of hot chocolate will be included. ( There will be other fun activities planned in case the weather doesn't give us snow.)

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 - Another full day of outdoor fun including sledding, a snowshoe race, snow games, a treasure hunt and a trip to Mendon Ponds to feed the chickadees (right from our hands). A hot lunch and plenty of hot chocolate will be included. ( There will be other fun activities planned in case the weather doesn't give us snow.)

Three Day Adirondack Winter Adventure - (Thursday, Feb. 19th to Saturday, Feb. 21st, 2009)( No previous experience required - Just a love of the outdoors, decent physical condition and warm clothing and boots. This is a great 1st time winter mountain hike.) We will meet at 8:30 AM on Thursday, plan our menu and shop for food, then head for the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid. We will stay at the Jackrabbit Hostel (heated bunkrooms, showers, full kitchen, cable TV). Maybe a visit to the beautiful village of Lake Placid before bed. On Friday, we will rise, eat breakfast, then go on an all day hike (with snowshoes) to the top of "The Brothers" (elevation 3720 ft.) (Beautiful views of the High Peaks) and maybe "Big Slide" mountain (elevation 4240 ft.) and then back to the hostel for the night. We will return around 4:30 PM on Saturday. All meals, lodging, and transportation will be included in the camp fee. Snowshoes will be provided. This trip is open to all boys and girls, 11 yrs to 16 yrs old and even parents (maybe make it a parent - child adventure.) Come along for a great winter adventure. The cost of the 3-day trip is $150.00 per person.

This week we will do 2 days of canoeing and kayaking. One at Braddock Bay with swimming, games and other fun activities and 1 day at Ellison Park on Irondequoit Creek with swimming, a picnic lunch and some GPS games, 1 day of bicycling the Barge Canal path, looking for hidden clues to a treasure hunt and swimming, and an overnight to Stony Brook State Park for some adventure, swimming and fossil hunting.

This is a 6-day session running from Sunday, July 12th to Friday, July 17th, 2009
On Sunday we will go over final details for our trip, plan menus, buy food, pack up and leave for the Adirondack Mountains. Maybe we will do a short hike and some swimming before dinner. We will camp at Wilmington Notch State Park. On Monday we will do some rock climbing on Pitchoff Mountain or near Chapel Pond near the village of Keene Valley. On Tuesday we will do an all day hike to the top of Cascade and Porter Mountains in the High Peaks. On Wednesday we will pack up and head for the Upper Saranac Lake / Floodwood Pond area where we will do a 2-night canoe trip, camping at a different site each night. On Friday we will pack up, paddle to the cars and be home around 5PM.

This week we will spend Monday at Braddock Bay canoeing, kayaking, swimming, including a picnic lunch and games and a craft. On Tuesday, we will do a 5 to 7 mile bicycle treasure hunt with a little adventure, some more games and perhaps a craft and some swimming. On Wednesday we will start with a little treasure hunting with the GPS, then a fun low ropes obstacle course, some active games and then swimming. We will do our overnight from Thursday to Friday at Allegany State Park with a side trip to explore Little Rock City.

On Wednesday we will do an all day hike to the top of Algonquin Mountain (2nd highest in NY) for a spectacular view of the Adirondacks. On Thursday we will pack up and head to the Cranberry Lake area to spend 2 days canoeing / kayaking on the Oswegatchie River into the Five Ponds Wilderness Area, swimming and exploring . Saturday morning we will eat, swim, pack up and be home at around 5:00 PM.

Session #6 6-day Adirondack Adventure Fee... $345.00
This is a 6 day session running from Monday, August 10th - Saturday, August 15th, 2009
This week is reserved for any group that would like to help plan out their customized itinerary. A minimum of 6 participants is required. I can only accommodate 1 group this week, so register early. A discount will apply if the group provides their own adult leadership.

Important:
Group size is limited to 9 participants per week. A
non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 per session is due to hold a place
in the program. All camp fees must be paid in full by June 1st,
2009. A $25.00 late fee is charged for payments after June 1st,
2009.
Note:
This is an active program and is not for couch potatoes. Anyone in decent
condition will have no problem doing all the activities and have a lot of fun.
We will be on the go all day and you will probably be tired and maybe a little
sore at the end of the first couple days but that will get better as the week
progresses.
Behavior: Because of the nature of the program we can’t allow any disruptive or dangerous behavior. During the week we will be evaluating each participant for their willingness to listen to the counselors, to be part of the group and their ability to get along with other people. If we have recurring problems with a camper, he or she may not be allowed to go on the overnight trips.
