Mountain High Adventure
Session #5 – Introduction to Adventure – July 23rd to July 27th, 2012
(Monday
to Friday)
We will meet each
day at my house (45 Britton Rd. off Lake Ave.) around 8:30 AM and return there
about 4:30 PM
Monday… 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- We will be at Braddock Bay today. Learn about canoeing safety.
Let’s play canoe hide and seek? Maybe explore one of the creeks. We will
have a picnic lunch of hot dogs, chips, and soda.
We will also play some active games and maybe a craft project. Let’s go exploring! Let’s go
swimming!

Bring swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, full water bottle, water
shoes (optional) and sunglasses (optional). Bring a small backpack (book bag) to
carry your stuff.
Tuesday… 8:30
AM to 4:30 PM – Today we will be doing a 7 to 10 mile bicycle treasure
hunt. Afterwards we will have lunch, play some games, maybe do a craft project
and finish the day with a swim and sandcastles at the beach.

Bring a lunch, swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, full water bottle,
water shoes (optional) and sunglasses (optional). Bring a small backpack (book
bag) to carry your stuff.
Wednesday… 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
– Let’s go exploring! We will be going to Durand Eastman Park today for some
fun with map and compass and GPS and a low ropes obstacle course. Then it’s “Let’s go swimming” at
either Charlotte Beach or Durand Beach.

Bring a lunch, swimsuit and towel, sunscreen, full water bottle,
water shoes (optional) and sunglasses (optional). Bring a small backpack (book
bag) to carry your stuff. Sneakers for climbing.
Thursday – Friday… Overnight. We will meet at 8:30 AM on Thursday to plan our menu and check over our equipment for our overnight trip. We will go shopping, pack everything into the trailer, and leave for the overnight at Four Mile Creek State Park (near Niagara Falls). We will explore, play games, go on a boat ride in the Lockport cave, and other fun stuff. Everyone will get a chance to cook, clean up, set up tents, hang out around the campfire, toast marshmallows, and make smores. If everything works out, we may also do some Dutch oven cooking like cobbler or baking a cake. We will be back by 4:30 PM on Friday.
· Bring comfortable clothing, warm fleece or sweater, jacket, raincoat, eating utensils (plastic cup, bowl, plate and silverware), flashlight, sleeping bag, swimsuit and towel, personal items (soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc), small backpack (for hiking), water bottle, camera (optional),
