Mountain High Adventure Camp 2016 - Week #4 Photo Page

We staarted out Monday paddling and playing canoe hide and seek in the channels through the cattails at Braddock Bay where we saw a large family of swans. They were swimming around the area so we had to keep changing direction so we wouldn't get too close to them. Later we had a picnic lunch and headed for Ontario Beach Park to do some swimming. The water was green but that didn't stop us from going out and playing in the waves that were rolling into shore. We even had time to fly one of the kites.

Early Tuesday, Harry went out and hid all the clues for the treasure hunt. When the kids arrived, we did a safety check on all the bikes, went over the safety rules for the ride and took off on the 12 mile ride to find all the hidden clues. One of the clues was hidden down at Ontario Beach so we rode the merry-go-round, at lunch and went swimming before finishing the ride back to base and figuring out the final clue to get our treasure.

On Wednesday we went to Ellison Park to start our day with a little disc golf. Hiking up and down the hills was a lot of work. Sometimes we had to go searching through the woods to find a disc that went off the course. Then we went exploring down into the woods and a ravine past the old trading post all the way to the creek. Later we drove over to another park and set up the rope course and did a little geocaching before heading back to the house.

On Thursday, we planned our menu, went shopping and packed everything into the trailer and headed to Stony Brook Park for our overnight. We set up the tent, played a little and then went for a hike down the creek for some wet fun. The swimming area was open so we stopped to swim there for a while before heading back to camp.

That night we cooked seasoned chicken breast over rice with stuffing on the side for dinner.

The next morning we slept in a little. Then we made breakfast, took down camp and went to play in the upper creek, looking for fossils along the way. Somebody had been making cool piles of stones so we added our own stone sculptures. Finally it was time to jump back into the van and head home.
